Acetyllasiocarpine, an alkaloid from Heliotropium europaeum

Abstract

A new minor alkaloid of Heliotropium europaeum has been identified as an acetyllasiocarpine with the acetyl group on the β-hydroxyl of the lasiocarpic acid moiety.     Proof of structure is provided by ¹³C nuclear magnetic resonance data. The alkaloid is formed by mild acetylation of lasiocarpine.
