Oxidative addition reactions with Bis(dithioacetylacetonato)cobalt(II)

Abstract

The synthesis of cationic cobalt(III) complexes of the [CoS₄N₂]⁺ type can be readily effected by oxidative addition of Co(SacSac)₂ with molecular oxygen in the presence of chelating nitrogenous ligands. The N.M.R. spectra of the complexes are consistent with the molecular point symmetry C₂ for the cation.
