Abstract
The dependence of the intensity of the air after-glow on the nature of the bulk gas (for fixed O and NO concentrations) has been evaluated for H2, He, N2, O2, Ar, CH4, CO2, N2O, SF6. The results are interpreted in terms of the combined effects of the collision partner on vibrational stabilization and electronic quenching of the emitting molecule.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9731837
