Halogenated terpenoids. VII. Carvone tetrabromides and carvone tetrachlorides

Abstract

The structural formulae of the α- and β-carvone tetrabromides and the α- and β-carvone pentabromides are deduced. The reaction of sodium iodide upon these compounds has been investigated. Two new crystalline carvone tetrachlorides have been synthesized and their structural relationship with carvone tetrabromide determined.
