Abstract
Imidazole and some 1-alkylimidazoles are methylated at C2 under homolytic methylation conditions. Pyrazole forms 3-methylpyrazole, while 2-substituted imidazoles are unaffected. Some 2-acylimidazoles are prepared and described.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9730415
