The chemistry of 2,1-benzisothiazoles. IV. The preparation of 3-substituted 2,1-benzisothiazoles

Abstract

Eight 3-substituted 2,1-benzisothiazoles have been prepared from 3- amino-2,1-benzisothiazole (2; R = NH₂) by diazotization and replacement of the diazonium group. Acylation of 3-amino-2,1-benzisothiazole in the presence of base yielded N,N?-diacyl derivatives of the 3-imino tautomer.
