Abstract
When wool is immersed at room temperature in solutions containing chromium(V1) anions, these anions are absorbed and are bound to the positively charged amino groups in the wool. The anions can be washed out by rinsing the wool in solutions of high pH. The nature of the chromium(V1) species absorbed by wool depends on the pH of the treatment; at low pH, dichromate ions were found on wool, whereas at high pH chromate ions were found.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9682277
