Abstract
Making use of dipyrrylmethane intermediates, the preparation of l- methoxy-2,3,4,5,6,8-hexamethylporphin (V) is described. The attempted synthesis of the corresponding hydroxyporphyrin has yielded a ketonic tetrapyrrole which is presumably a tautomer of the desired compound. The structure of this material is discussed.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9670951
