Synthesis of D-(+)-tecostidine and related actinidine derivatives

Abstract

6-, 8-, and 11-Hydroxyactinidine have been synthesized. D-(+)-11- Hydroxy-actinidine is shown to be the enantiomer of tecostidine, thus defining the absolute configuration of the natural product. Reduction of (+)-11-hydroxyactinidine has given a mixture of the stereoisomeric tecostanines.
