Homopolypeptides derived from substituted β-Benzyl-L-aspartates and γ-Benzyl-L-glutamates

Abstract

Homopolypeptides have been obtained by polymerization of the N-carboxy anhydrides of various substituted β-benzyl-L-aspartates and γ-benzyl-L- glutamates. The substituted benzyl groups concerned are o-, m-, and p- nitrobenzyl, 2,4,6-trimethylbenzyl, p-iodobenzyl, and 1-naphthylmethyl.
