Tungsten hexaphenoxide and ring-substituted derivatives

Abstract

Tungsten hexaphenoxide is stable to alkaline hydrolysis but exchanges ligands under acid conditions. Direct nitration and bromination of the aromatic rings is possible, and nitro groups may be reduced. A number of substituted tungsten hexaphenoxides are described.
