Abstract
This paper reports measurements of the electrical resistances of some lithium, sodium, and potassium silicate glasses between 1 and 2000 atm and from 15 to 35°C. The resistances of all the glasses increased with increasing pressure, and the change was greatest for the potassium glass. The apparent volumes of activation for the conduction process were found to be slightly greater than the volumes of the alkali metal ions that carried the current.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9650001
