Abstract
The origin of two bands, one near 500 cm-1 and the other near 600 cm-1 found in liquid alkyltin compounds has been studied. They are shown to arise from two isomeric forms. The isomerism arises from the conformation of the alkyl chain with respect to the tin atom. Both bands are assigned to tin-carbon stretching frequencies, the higher frequency to the trans-isomer and the lower to the gauche.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9630985
