Abstract
A more accurate mathematical method is described for evaluating the conductivity data which involve triple ions. The method has been used to determine the triple ion equilibrium constant of sodium perchlorate which agrees with that calculated from the Fuoss and Kraus (1933b) equation. The limiting equivalent conductivity of the perchloric acid triple ion electrolyte is greater than that expected from the relative sizes of the ions and is due to a proton-jump mechanism.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9630084
