A Possible Physical Distinction between Isomeric α- and β-Aldoximes

Abstract

Five pairs of geometrically isomeric aldoximes show consistent differences when examined as solutes in the near-infrared (0.7 to 2.6 μ) region. Whereas α-oximes exhibit two absorption peaks, at 2.010-2.030 μ and at 2.065-2.085 μ, β-oximes exhibit only one, at 2 046-2.060 μ.
