Abstract
Dolichodial, isolated from Dolichoderus acanthoclinea Clarki (Wheeler), is shown to be α-(2-formyl-3-methylcyclopentylacraldehyde (I). The conversion of dolichodial into iridodial (II), and independently, into isoiridomyrmecin (X), establishes further relationships in the cyclopentanoid monoterpenes.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9610143
