Abstract
Fatty acids soluble in acetone at -18 °C comprised 48.5 per cent. of the cuticle oil of ripe Granny Smith apples, This fraction had the following percentage composition : oleic acid 28, linoleic 49, linolenic 5, palmitic 1, and myristic 1. Lauric acid was also identified, and evidence for the presence of small amounts of caprylic, enanthic, and caproic acids was obtained by gas chromatography,https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9600411
