Abstract
A preliminary study of the essential oils of Eucalyptus caesia Benth, and E. torquata Luehm. has revealed the presence of a common ketonic substituent C16H24O4. On the basis of degradative work described, the new substance, torquatone, has been assigned structure II, [2,4,6-trimethoxy-3,5-dimethyl]benzyl isopropyl ketone.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9590442
