The Alkaloids of Erectites quadridentata D.C.

Abstract

Senecionine, seneciphylline, and retrorsine have been isolated from Erectites quadridentata D.C. where they occur mainly in the form of their N-oxides. The alkaloids, hieracifoline and pterophine, are shown to be mixtures of senecionine and seneciphylline.
