Abstract
New measurements are recorded of the polarizations at infinite dilution in carbon tetrachloride of 13 solutes. The apparent dipole moments computed therefrom, together with those determined earlier of acetone, chloroform, and paraldehyde, are used to calculate true ?gas? moments via an equation, due to Buckingham and Le Fèvre, hitherto tested only when benzene has been the solvent. Results with carbon tetrachloride are as satisfactory as those with benzene.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9540033
