Rob Capon is a Professorial Research Fellow in the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland, where he leads a group with a multidisciplinary capability spanning chemistry, microbiology, biology, and ecology. With <30 years experience, Rob has published extensively on the chemistry of Australian marine algae, invertebrates, and microbes, using both basic and applied science to advance the discovery of new human and animal health therapeutics, crop protection agents, and molecular probes. As a leading Australian advocate for marine natural products chemistry Rob has attracted significant government and industry investment, assembling an impressive network of collaborators, while making a significant commitment to mentoring and training generations of Australian natural product chemists. |
