A taxonomic revision of the genus Cyanostegia (Chloanthaceae).

Abstract

A taxonomic revision of Cyanostegia is provided. Five species are recognized of which C. corifolia is described for the first time. C. turcraninowii (nomen illegit.) var dentata and angustifolia (nomina nuda) are found to be identical with the typical varieties of C. microphylla and C. angustifolia respectively. The affinities and distribution are discussed for each species. A new key to the species is provided and a detailed revised description of each taxon is supplemented by a habit sketch of a flowering branch and analytical drawings of the flowers.
