Abstract

Testicular parameters, parenchymal spermatid concentration, and epididymal sperm reserves were measured in tracts obtained from 16 Awassi rams classified into three age groups (1, 1·5 and 2·5 years old). Between 1 and 2·5 years of age the paired testis weight increased from 164·9 to 315·2 g, the testicular spermatid number (x 109 ) increased from 15·9 to 55·8, and the total epididymal sperm reserves (x 109) increased from 11·1 to 98·8.
