Abstract

Two factors are involved in the diving reaction of larvae of Culex fatigans,Wied., a kinetic stimulus which initiates movement and a directional stimulus.The kinetic stimulus may be a water vibration, a change in light intensity, or amild electric shock. The directional stimulus is normally a combination of lightand gravity.
