Abstract
In this paper we present simulations of the extragalactic radio sky at 151, 325, and 1400 MHz based on number density predictions from models of the evolution of the radio luminosity function. From these simulations we predict typical source distributions, allowing us to estimate the natural confusion limit to faint flux density limits. The results are relevant to the science and design goals of future radio facilities, namely the Square Kilometre Array, the low-frequency array, and their demonstrator projects. Keywords: radio continuum: galaxies — galaxies: active — quasars: general
