A revision of the Australian chafers (Coleoptera : Scarabaeidae : Melolonthinae) genus Liparetrus

Abstract

The third part of the revision of Australian Scarabaeidae : Melolonthinae deals with the genus Liparetrus of the tribe Liparetrini. Tribe and genus are defined and a key to the 239 valid species is provided. The following 111 new species are described: Liparerrus adelus, aethiops, albipennis, albosetosus, amplus, andersoni, arenosus, argenteus, armstrongi, ascius, assitus, atrox, aulax, bakeri, bellarus, cantrelli, carnabyi, carnei, carpentariae, eastaneus, cerinus, cinnameus, cognarus, collessi, comes, commoni, crassus, dixoni, Jinitimus, flavidus, flavopictus, fumosus, furfurosus, gilvus, glauerti, halei, hattanus, hilli, hirpex, imbricatus, ithonus, jubatus, karallus, karinus, kiatanus, kungarus, laciniatus, limbatus, luridus, luteus, medius, merredinensis, merus, micros, mimus, minimus, minusculus, minutus, monartus, newmani, nigrifrons, obesus, opacus, orestes, orsinus, ovipennis, pandus, parvus, paryphus, paulus, pauxillus, pectinatus, periosus, pezus, pholiotus, pimbus, plautus, politus, pulvereus, pusillus, pygmaeus, quinquelobatus, reburrus, robustus, rubrus, satanus, seclusus, septuosus, squamipennis, squamosus, stygius, tanami, tatakus, tenebrosus, teres, trichotus, trivialis, tulanus, dingus, umbrosus, uptoni, urbulus, validus, vastus, vespertinus, vestjensi, vicinus, villosus, wanamarus, waningus, wilsoni.
