Editor-in-Chief – William Birch
Dr William Birch is Curator Emeritus in Geosciences at Museums Victoria. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Victoria and a former President. He was Senior Curator in Geosciences at the Museum between 1974 and his retirement in 2013. His main research interests have been in new minerals and unusual mineral assembles, particularly in Victoria. He has published over 200 papers and notes and edited five books, including the landmark Geology of Victoria for the Geological Society of Australia in 2003. Since the 1980s he has contributed to the work of the International Mineralogical Association through its Commission of New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification.
