The Bibionidae (Diptera) of Australia.

Abstract

The Australian Bibionidae are revised and their taxonomy brought up to date. Ten species have been previously recorded. The present study recognizes 31 valid species arranged in four genera, the bulk of the species belonging in Dilophus. All species are keyed, described and figured and their seasonal and geographic distribution is given. Nineteen species are described as new.
