Further observations of high-frequency current variations on the continental shelf near Sydney, New South Wales

Abstract

A triangular current-meter mooring array and concurrent research vessel observations were used to observe high-frequency current variations for 9 days in April 1981 on the continental shelf off Sydney, N.S.W. Internal waves propagated onshore at 0.6 m s^-1 with an energy flux of the order of 10³ J m^-1 s^-1. One soliton-like event was recorded and it also propagated onshore at 0.6 m s^-1.
