Dear Editor,

I read with interest the article on ‘Surgical site infection following caesarean section at Royal Darwin Hospital, Northern Territory.’1 I do have two queries for the authors. First, I wonder if the authors could comment on whether data on patients’ weights or BMI were collected and, if so, were these were a risk factor for infection? I would also be interested to know whether the ‘grade’ or ‘experience’ of the surgeon undertaking the caesarean section was recorded and, if so, whether this had any impact on infection rates. Your comments or thoughts on these points are appreciated.

Conflicts of interest

I have no conflicts to declare and this letter was not funded.
