Abstract
The C12 position of manoyl oxide (1) has been functionalized by conversion of (1) into the alcohol (6), followed by oxidation with lead tetraacetate, thereby providing a partial synthesis of the natural product 8α,13-epoxylabd-14-en-12β-ol (3).
