Metal complexes of thiosemicarbazide: Vibrational analysis of nickel(II) thiosemicarbazide complexes and their deutero isotopomers

Abstract

The assignments of the in-plane vibrations of the ionic and neutral nickel(II) thiosemicarbazide complexes, Ni(Htsc)₂Cl₂ and Ni(tsc)₂, and their deuterated molecules have been made with the aid of normal coordinate treatments. The out-of-plane vibrations have been assigned empirically. The results of the coordinate treatments have been discussed by referring to the spectra of related molecules. The changes in the infrared bands of thiosemicarbazide on complex formation are also discussed.
