Activity models in the Na⁺,Zn²⁺/Cl^-,SO₄^2- reciprocal fused salt system

Abstract

The conformal ionic solution model has been applied to the charge asymmetrical, reciprocal fused salt system: Na⁺,Znz⁺/C1^-,S0₄^2-. This model takes into account binary and ternary type interactions as well as the exchange equilibrium: ZnCl₂ + Na₂SO₄ ↔ ZnSO₄ + 2NaCl Calculated ZnCl₂ activities are found to be in reasonable agreement with experimental values.
