Isolation of (–)-Kaur-16-en-19-oic acid and 15β-Hydroxy-(–)-kaur-16-en-l9-oic acid from Phebalium rude Bartl

Abstract

Two diterpene acids have been isolated from Phebalium rude Bartl. One of these has been identified as (-)-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (1), and the other has been shown to be 15β-hydroxy-(-)-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid (111). This work appears to provide the first record of the isolation of diterpenes from a member of the Rutaceae.
