Synthesis of the Lichen Depsides Miriquidic Acid and Normiriquidic Acid

Abstract

The total synthesis of the lichen depsides miriquidic acid (1) and normiriquidic acid (2) is reported. The latter depside has been shown to co-occur with miriquidic acid in the lichen Lecidea leucophaea ( Flk .) Nyl . by chromatographic comparisons.
