Carbonyl halides of the Group VII transition metals. IV. Carbonyl halide complexes of rhenium(III)

Abstract

The new halocarbonyl complexes of rhenium(III), [Re(CO)₂X₄]^- (X = Cl, Br), have been synthesized by the halogen oxidation of [Re(CO)₃X]₄. On the basis of various physical measurements a cis octahedral structure is proposed for these anions.
